General Assembly Fails to Adopt 12-Power Draft on Restoration of Lawful Rights of People's Republic of China
The General Assembly this morning failed to adopt a 12-Power draft resolution which would have recognized the People's Republic of China as the only lawful representative of China in the United Nations and would have expelled the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek. The roll-call vote on the 12-Power draft was 47 in favour to 47 against, with 20 abstentions and two delegations not participating in the vote.
