Twenty-First Session of Commission on Human Rights

The United Nations Commission on Human Rights opened its twenty-first session in Geneva today. The main item on the Commission's agenda is the consideration of a draft international convention on the elimination of all forms of religious intolerance. The session is expected to end on 15 April. The Commission on Human Rights was established in 1946 and has 21 members. It has the regular function of reviewing United Nations programmes in the field of human rights and formulating principles guaranteeing basic human rights.
