In 'Historic' Vote, General Assembly Creates New UN Human Rights Council

Jan Eliasson (right), President of the sixtieth session of the General Assembly; flanked by Deputy Secretary-General Louise Fréchette, addresses the plenary meeting of the General Assembly which, in a historic decision, voted 170 in favour and four against, to establish the new United Nations Human Rights Council, today at UN Headquarters in New York.
