Guided Tour Service at United Nations Headquarters
Since 1952, the U.N. Office of Public Information has maintained a Visitors Service Section which handles queries from visitors and conducts public briefings and guided tours of the U.N. Headquarters. In the course of the one-hour tours, which are organized in groups of 20 to 25 persons, Guides explain the aims, structure and work of the Organization, and point out the decorative and architectural highlights of the buildings. Some 42 nationalities are represented on the staff of Guides, and tours can be conducted in a total of 37 languages.
