Maternity Care in the Philippines

To give the best possible care to expectant mothers and new-born children, the Republic of the Philippines has established many new obstetrical and medical services. They include new training programmes for midwives, as well as prenatal and home care for mothers. The World Heath Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) are assisting these national programmes or health and welfare.
