Secretary-General Meets with Chairman of Commission of AU

Secretary-General Kofi Annan (left) meets with Alpha Oumar Konaré, Chairman of the Commission of the African Union (AU), during the pledging conference for the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS), in Brussels, Belgium. At the conference, Mr. Annan called for an end to hostilities and urged donors to support the African Union mission there, saying it was critical to act now to safeguard the agreement and stop further bloodshed.
