General Assembly Recognizes People's Republic of China as Only Legitimate Representative of China

The General Assembly voted tonight to recognize the representative of the People's Republic of China as the only legitimate representative of China to the United Nations, and to expel forthwith the representatives of Chiang Kai-Shek from the place they unlawfully occupy at the United Nations and in all the organizations affiliated with it. The Assembly acted by adopting a draft resolution, sponsored by Albania and 22 other nations, by a vote of 76 in favour to 35 against, and 17 abstentions.
