Security Council Meets on Situation in the Middle East, Votes to Extend UNIFIL Mandate

Wide view of the Security Council meeting held to consider the Report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) [S/2005/460], today at UN Headquarters. The Council decided to extend the mandate of its nearly 40-year-old UNIFIL by six months, through 31 January 2006.
