Afghan Internally Displaced Persons

The tent encampment on the Afghan side of the border shares a short stretch offence in common with the Killi Faizo Refugee Camp. Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) settle in makeshift shelters to wait for permission to cross the border into refugee camps. Once they cross the border, the IDPs become refugees. The structures in the background are food storage areas for the World Food Programme.
