President of the Philippines Visit the United Nations

The President of the Philippines, Diosdado Macapagal, today visited United Nations Headquarters and was officially received inside the building by Secretary-General U Thant who then escorted him to his office for a private conversation. President Macapagal was also the guest of honour at a luncheon given by the Secretary-General and later met Secretariat staff members of Philippine nationality in the Security Council Chamber. He held discussions with members of the Asian-African Group of the United Nations before his departure from the building.
