UN Truce Supervision Organization - Strengthening of Military Observer Operation in the Suez Canal Sector

Under the terms of the consensus (S/8047) expressed by the President of the Security Council and approved by the Council at its 1366th meeting on 9/10 July 1967, the Secretary-General was authorized to make the necessary arrangements to station UN military observer in the Suez Canal Sector under the Chief of Staff of the UN Truce Supervision Organization in Palestine.
At present, there are 90 military observers in the Suez Canal Sector and 48 in the Israel-Syria Sector. Both groups are under the UNTSO Chief of Staff, General Odd Bull.
