General Assembly Hears Address by Prime Minister of Bangladesh; Five Foreign Ministers Speak in Continuing General Debate

The General Assembly heard this afternoon an address by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, whose country was admitted to United Nations membership on 17 September, the opening day of the current session. After his address, the general debate resumed, with statements by the ministers for Foreign Affairs of Ireland, the Philippines, the German Democratic Republic, Sweden and Nicaragua. The representative of Chile spoke under the right of reply.
