After Dark at United Nations Headquarters in New York
At the end of a normal working day at United Nations Headquarters in New York there are same 20 acres of office space in the Secretariat building alone that must be cleaned by night workers, not to mention the cleaning to be done in the General Assembly and Conference buildings. The work is done by staff provided by outside contractors. The cleaning staff begins work shortly after 6 p.m. and stay on the job until 2 a.m. each day.
Some of the members of the cleaning staff are seen in the first-basement corridor of the Conference building.
