AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN KOREA

1 August 1954

This photograph taken on the site of one of UNKRA' s agricultural projects ilustrates the typical manner in which Koreans use spades. Two ropes are fixed at each side of the blade. One man sinks the spade into the earth while the other two pull the blade and earth towards them, in a swinging movement.
