UN Emergency Force (UNEF) in Egypt
The strength of the UN Emergency Force in Egypt has been increasing steadily ever since November 15 when the first UNEF soldier arrived at Abu Suweir. Serving with UNEF presently are contingents from Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Norway, Sweden and Yugoslavia. Ever since mid-December, when the Israeli forces started their withdrawal from the Sinai peninsula, UNEF units have been advancing behind them to occupy the positions just abandoned and help maintain order.
