Memorial to Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld at Ndola in Zambia

A quotation from his own book serves as an epitaph on a memorial slab for Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld at Ndola (then in Northern Rhodesia), site of the plane crash on September 18, 1961. The Secretary-General was on a peace mission in the Congo. The site of the crash is now marked by a special park in Zambia. Mr. Dag Hammarskjöld served as Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1953 to 1961.
