King and Queen of the Hellenes Visit United Nations

The King and Queen of the Hellenes [Greece], who are at present engaged in a month-long trip in the United States, today paid an official visit to United Nations Headquarters, in New York. A special plenary meeting of the General Assembly was held to welcome their Majesties. This picture was taken as King Paul was addressing the meeting; seated on the podium is Queen Frederika; and, left to right at the presidential rostrum, U.N. Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld; Madame Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, President of the Assembly; and Mr. Andrew Cordier, Executive Assistant to the Secretary-General.
