General Assembly Opens Twenty-Fourth Session

The United Nations General Assembly opened its twenty-fourth regular session this afternoon, electing Miss Angie E. Brooks of Liberia as its President.
The seven Main Committees then met consecutively to elect their Chairmen.
Delegates cast their ballots in the election of Miss Brooks as President of the General Assembly.
