Secretary-General, General Assembly and Security Council Presidents Meet with Former President of South Africa

Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa and Facilitator of the Burundi Peace Process, visits Headquarters to brief the Security Council on the situation in Burundi. He called on the rebel groups to demonstrate the quality of their leadership, announce a ceasefire and halt the slaughter of innocents. Following the Council meeting, he meets with the Presidents of the Council and General Assembly and the Secretary-General.
