UNEF Troops Engage in Evacuation and Landing Exercises

Troops of the Indian, Danish and Swedish contingents of the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) today engaged in an exercise called ""Optimist-1"", to practice the evacuation and landing of stores, troops, vehicles, etc. The exercise was held on Abu Beach, under the direction of Colonel W.A. Capelle, Commander of the UNEF Maintenance Area in Rafah. Here, members of the Indian contingent are seen disembarking from a landing craft in an assault on a ""hostile"" beach.
