An aerial view of New York City and the East River. The United Nations Headquarters is seen overlooking the East River on the sixteen acre, six block tract which it occupies on First Avenue in Manhattan, between 42nd and 48th Streets. The buildings are the 39-storey Secretariat, the General Assembly, the Council Chambers and Conference Rooms located at the river's edge, and the Dag Hammarskjöld Library.
