Brazilian Advance Contingent for UNEF Arrives in Egypt

A Brazilian advance contingent of 42 officers and men arrived at Abu Suweir today, bringing the total strength of the UN Emergency Force (UNEF) in Egypt to about 5,200. This advance unit will be joined shortly by the main group of their reduced strength battalion which left Rio on 10 January and is scheduled to arrive at Port Said by ship within a week.
