Secretary-General Visits Santiago, Chile

Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in the Chilean capital, Santiago de Chile, this morning for the first leg of his four-country South American tour. Mr. Annan is meeting this morning with Alicia Barcena (centre), the acting Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), as well as the Heads of the UN agencies in Chile. Also present at today's meeting is Egidio Crotti (second from right), Resident Coordinator of the UN system in Chile and UNICEF's area representative for Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
