Human Rights Defenders Honoured as General Assembly Marks Human Rights Day

The General Assembly held this morning a plenary meeting to award the winners of this year's United Nations Human Rights prizes. Deng Pufang (left), Founder and Director of the China Disabled Persons Federation, receiving this year's United Nations Human Rights prize from Julian Robert Hunte (Saint Lucia), President of the fifty-eighth session of the General Assembly.
