Security Council Meeting on the Middle East

17 July 2003

Following the Security Council meeting on the Middle East, the events were seen as being both positive and optimistic by Council Members. As a result, Israel and Syria will go into further negotiations on these issues. On the matter of the forthcoming meeting, Tuesday 23rd July 2003, the Governing Council of Iraq will speak at the Security Council under article 39.
