Security Council Meets on Situation Concerning Democratic Republic of Congo

During the 4790th meeting of the Security Council this morning, the Council considered the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Council reviewed the second special report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Organization Mission in that country, where the Secretary-General recommends that the mandate of the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC) be extended for another year, until 30 June 2004.
