Security Council Meets to Discuss Timor-Leste

The Council met this morning to discuss the situation in Timor-Leste. Jean-Marie Guéhenno, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, briefed the Council on the proposals for continued support to Timor-Leste after the conclusion of the current United Nations Mission of Support in East Timor (UNMISET) mandate on 20 May.
Jose Ramos-Horta, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, addresses the Security Council.
