Security Council Meets to Discuss Timor-Leste

The Council met this morning to discuss the situation in Timor-Leste. Jean-Marie Guéhenno, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, briefed the Council on the proposals for continued support to Timor-Leste after the conclusion of the current United Nations Mission of Support in East Timor (UNMISET) mandate on 20 May.
Gonçalo Aires de Santa Clara Gomes, Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries, addresses the Security Council.
