Security Council Meets on Non-Proliferation of Mass Destruction Weapons

The Security Council met this afternoon to discuss the issue of non-proliferation of mass destruction weapons. The Council unanimously adopted (shown) resolution 1540 (2004), deciding that all States would establish domestic controls to prevent the proliferation of such weapons and means of delivery, in particular for terrorist purposes.
