United Nations Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali opened the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) - or Earth Summit - on 3 June 1992, and Fernando Collor De Mello, President of Brazil, was elected as President of the Conference.
Gro Harlem Brundtland, Prime Minister of Norway and Chairman of the World Commission on Environment and Development, addresses the Conference.
