MINUSMA Investigates Human Rights Violations in Menaka Region

A delegation led by Human Rights Officers travelled to the Menaka region in northern Mali to investigate recent armed attacks in the settlements of Aklaz and Awakassa, in which at least 47 people were killed.
A peacekeeper from the Nigerien Contingent serving with the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) provides security outside the Mayor's Office as Human Rights personnel meet with community leaders, other notable persons and displaced witnesses in Anderamboukane, 90 kilometres east of Menaka.
