US Permanent Representative Visits South Sudan's Northern Town

Kelly Craft (fifth from right, white shirt), Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, visited South Sudan's northern town of Malakal for an on-ground assessment of the situation of the country and met with groups of local women.
Visiting South Sudan as part of the Security Council delegation, Ms. Craft said that the UN's presence in the country is important and called on the importance of a smooth transition in the formation of a Transitional Government of National Unity. "Everybody here has hope and they are not asking [for] so much except for the safety for their families, to be able to provide for their families and they have such trust and faith," ambassador Craft said.
