Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Visits South Sudan

Jayathma Wickramanayake, UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, visits a vocational training center in Torit during her visit to South Sudan. The Torit Vocational Training Centre, supported by UNDP and the Netherlands, train young people in tailoring, construction and engineering and currently has about 420 people enrolled. During her time in Torit, Ms. Wickramanayake also met with women traders who have created a support network to help them grow their businesses.
Ms. Wickramanayake (back centre) visits the motorbike workshop for students training to become vehicle mechanics in the vocational training centre in Torit.
