SRSG for Children and Armed Conflict Launches ACT to Protect Campaign in South Sudan
Virginia Gamba (left), Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, meets with Taban Deng Gai, Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, during her visit to South Sudan. Ms. Gamba is in the country to launch ""ACT to Protect Children Affected by Conflict"", a global campaign to generate greater awareness and action to protect children affected by war. Ms. Gamba pleaded for the Government to give children a chance, ""to grow free from fear and war"".
