2018 Dag Hammarskjöld Medal Ceremony at UNHQ

At a ceremony held as part of the commemoration of the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers (29 May), the Dag Hammarskjöld Medal was awarded posthumously to 132 military, police and civilian personnel who lost their lives in 2017 while serving in UN peacekeeping operations. These individuals, who gave their lives for the benefit of the Organization, were represented at the ceremony by family members and the Missions at which they served.
