The United Nations Woman Police Officer of the Year Award recognizes a woman police officer who serves as a role model in her Mission and community and makes a significant contribution to police peacekeeping and the empowerment of women.
Chief Inspector Doreen Mazuba Malambo (upper right) from Zambia is the winner of the 2020 United Nations Woman Police Officer of the Year Award. She is currently serving with United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) as the UN Police Gender Adviser. At upper left is Luís Carrilho, United Nations Police Adviser, and at lower left is Jean-Pierre Lacroix, Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations.
