Security Council Extends Mandate of UNSOM

The Security Council unanimously adopts resolution 2592 (2021) extending until 31 May 2022 the mandate of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) as set out in paragraph 1 of resolution 2158 (2014).

Geng Shuang, Deputy Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations, addresses the Council meeting on the situation in Somalia.
