Security Council Meets on Situation in Somalia

Juan Ramón de la Fuente Ramirez, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of November, chairs the Security Council meeting on the situation in Somalia

The Council adopted Resolution 2607 (2021) on Somalia sanctions and decides to renew, with effect from the date of adoption of this resolution, until 15 December 2022, the Panel on Somalia. The Resolution was adopted with 13 votes in favour, none against and 2 abstentions (China and Russian Federation).
