Security Council Meets on Situation Between Iraq and Kuwait

Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi (right), Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation between Iraq and Kuwait. In the centre is Michael Gaffey, President of the Governing Council of the United Nations Compensation Commission.

The Council unanimously adopted resolution 2621 (2022) on the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC). The Council decided that the Commission has fulfilled its mandate and reaffirms that Iraq has fulfilled its international obligations to compensate all claimants awarded compensation by the Commission.
