International Court of Justice Hears Case Chile versus Bolivia
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) holds public hearings (by video link) in the case concerning the Dispute over the Status and Use of the Waters of the Silala (Chile v. Bolivia) at the Peace Palace in The Hague, starting on 1 April 2022. The sessions are held under the presidency of Judge Joan E. Donoghue, President of the Court. The Court's role is to settle legal disputes submitted to it by States (its judgments are final and binding) and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by authorized UN organs and agencies.
