Secretary-General Awarded Honorary Degree by National University of Córdoba

Secretary-General António Guterres (right) was awarded an honorary doctoral degree by the National University of Córdoba in Argentina (UNC).

In awarding this distinction, the University wished to highlight the Secretary-General's lifelong work for the global good, in particular his unwavering commitment to protect the victims of conflicts and displaced people, his dedication to fighting climate change and his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.

UNC is an Argentinian institution of higher education founded in 1613, with nearly 140,000 students. The award was handed over by the rector of the university, Dr. Hugo Juri (centre). On the left is Dr. Cecilia Cravero, Director of the Virtual Campus Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and wife of Hugo Juri.
