Opening of Stockholm+50 Conference

Magdalena Andersson (fifth from left), Prime Minister of Sweden, speaks at the opening of the Stockholm+50 Conference.

Seated at dais from left to right are: Abdulla Shahid, President of the seventy-sixth session of the United Nations General Assembly; Inger Andersen, UN Environment Programme Executive Director; Secretary-General António Guterres; Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya; the Prime Minister; Movses Abelian, Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly and Conference Management; and Collen Vixen Kelapile, President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Permanent Representative of Botswana to the United Nations.

Stockholm+50 commemorates the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment and celebrates 50 years of global environmental action. By recognizing the importance of multilateralism in tackling the Earth's triple planetary crisis – climate, nature, and pollution – the international meeting aims to drive action toward a healthy planet for the prosperity of all.
