MINUSTAH Holds Ceremony to Mark Closing of Mission

A ceremony was held to mark the end of the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) after thirteen years. MINUSTAH will be followed by a justice-based mission, the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH), the main tasks of which are to help the Government of Haiti strengthen rule-of-law institutions, further develop and support the Haitian National Police, and engage in human rights monitoring, reporting and analysis.
The United Nations flag is lowered and delivered to Sandra Honoré, Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Haiti and Head of MINUSTAH.
