General Assembly Meets on Strengthening of UN System Central and Role of UN System in Global Governance

Osuga Takeshi, Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations, addresses the 16th plenary meeting of the General Assembly. The meeting discusses several items on the agenda: Integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic, social and related fields, as well as Follow-up to the outcome of the Millennium Summit; Strengthening of the United Nations system; and the central role of the United Nations system in global governance.
