Installation Ceremony of Non-Permanent Members of Security Council for 2023-2024

A wide view of an installation ceremony of the national flags of the countries of the newly elected non-permanent members to serve on the United Nations Security Council for the term 2023-2024 is held today at UN Headquarters. The five new non-permanent members are Ecuador, Japan, Malta, Mozambique, and Switzerland.

At second from left to right are: Pedro Comissário Afonso, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Mozambique to the United Nations, Vanessa Frazier, Permanent Representative of Malta to the United Nations, Akan Rakhmetullin, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, Kimihiro Ishikane, Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations, Pascale Christine Baeriswyl, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the United Nations, and Hernán Pérez Loose, Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the United Nations.
