Security Council Meets on Situation in Cyprus

Kimihiro Ishikane, Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of January, chairs the Security Council meeting on the situation in Cyprus. The Council heard reports of the Secretary-General on the United Nations operation in Cyprus and his mission of good offices in Cyprus. The Council Council unanimously adopted resolution 2674 (2023) extending the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) for a further period ending on 31 January 2024.
