Architecture

The United Nations Headquarters in New York City is an architectural landmark and an iconic symbol of international diplomacy and collaboration. The complex, which includes the Secretariat Building, Conference Building, General Assembly Building, and Dag Hammarskjöld Library was designed by an international team that included some of the most renowned international architects of the day. The Secretariat Building, designed by Le Corbusier, was the first skyscraper in New York City to use a glass curtain wall.

Reflecting the modernist ideals of the mid-20th century, the International Style complex emphasizes transparency, collaboration, and international cooperation.
