"This very morning we have received the news of the cowardly assassination in Algeria of a French national Pierre Hervé Gourdel. We expressed our deep condolences and sympathy to the family of the victim, as well as to the French government. We assure them all that we will spare no effort to make sure that the perpetrators are brought to justice."

The acts committed by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant are the biggest proves of that and it became a source of concern by the United Arab Emirates.”

"In this struggle against terrorism we cannot conceive a coalition that includes countries that are the primary supporters of terrorism that provide them with refuge, that provide them with money. Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been making calls for terrorists to go to Iraq and Syria.”

“I’d like to asset that Egypt is taking measures to deal with terrorism. This includes measures that seek to combat the issue of foreign terrorist fights. In this respect, I’d like to highlight the fact that the Egyptian Criminal Code does include articles that defy and penalize terrorism.”

The Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) welcomed the formation of an international coalition "supported internationally, or through agreements or through bilateral cooperation" to fight terrorism in Syria and Iraq.
Speaking to the Security Council at UN Headquarters, he said today (24 Sep) that Syria "cannot conceive" a coalition that includes Qatar or Saudi Arabia, since these countries that are "the primary supporters of terrorism that provide them with refuge, that provide them with money."
Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra expressed his "deep condolences and sympathy" to the family of the French citizen beheaded in Algeria by a group linked to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). French President Francois Hollande confirmed his assassination this morning addressing the UN General Assembly.
Lamamra stressed that his government "will spare no effort to make sure that the perpetrators are brought to justice."
The Emirate Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh warned of the increased brutality of the threat posing terrorist groups compared to that of some years ago.
He said "today we continue to suffer from the same threats, and even more serious due to the emergence of various forms of violence which are not limited to kidnappings and displacements, but it also includes sexual violence against women as a primer target, and that is often overlooked during the talk about the crimes committed by those organizations. The acts committed by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant are the biggest proves of that and it became a source of concern by the United Arab Emirates.”
The Permanent Representative of Egypt Amr Abdellatif Aboulatta noted the steps taken by his country to tackle terrorism.
He said that the measures taken seek to "combat the issue of foreign terrorist fights. In this respect, I’d like to highlight the fact that the Egyptian Criminal Code does include articles that defy and penalize terrorism."
In a session chaired by US President Barack Obama, the Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution condemning violent extremism and calling on states to prevent the movement of terrorists or terrorist groups by effective border controls and controls on issuance of identity papers and travel documents.
