Since April, WFP has distributed food to over 770,000 people in the Ebola-stricken countries of West Africa. The agency requires (USD) 179.6 million to provide food and humanitarian services to about one million people until February 2015. So far, it has received (USD) 81.3 million.

The spread of Ebola has disrupted food trade and markets in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and in the region as whole, putting many families at risk of starvation.

The World Health Organization reported a total of 4922 deaths and 10141 cases of Ebola as of 25 October.
