3. SOUNDBITE (English) Yukiya Amano, IAEA Director General:
“For the second time since implementation of the JCPOA began, Iran’s inventory of heavy water exceeded 130 metric tonnes. Iran has since made preparations to transfer a quantity of heavy water out of the country, under the verification and monitoring of the Agency. Once it has been transferred, Iran’s stock of heavy water will be below 130 metric tonnes. It is important that such situations should be avoided in future in order to maintain international confidence in the implementation of the JCPOA.”

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Yukiya Amano, IAEA Director General:
“IAEA is a technical organization but we are working in a very important political environment, everyone knows. As a record, I expressed my concern many times in the past, in 2009, 2011, I kept on expressing concerns. But that concern is based on facts, this is important. We are not speculating; we are not reacting to rumors, but us we are the technical organization. We focus on facts and if these concerns make us to have concerns, we certainly share our concerns to other countries.”
